However, not everyone likes Facebook so for the benefit of those that aren't please see below a copy of the Useful Links that we maintain over there. Hope you like it!

ZIL is short for Zork Implementation Language, a programming language (based on MDL) developed by Marc Blank and Joel Berez of Infocom, and is a descendant of the artificial intelligence language LISP.

Footage recorded by Jason Scott as part of his Get Lamp interview archive.

An episode about the release of the Infocom Source Code on Github. It's currently available on the HistoricalSource collection there: https://github.com/historicalsource

The ZIL Language is now having a little renaissance and I hope to see some actual games come out of it. Until then, I'm not kidding - type in the name of any Infocom game and you can probably be playing it within seconds.

I recommend a walk through the document Steve Meretzky wrote at Infocom to explain the ZIL source code here: https://archive.org/details/Learning_...

Here's the video of the chat with Steve and Kevin: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/416801231

I'll also point out that if you want Frotz for TOPS-20...it's a thing.

https://github.com/athornton/tops20-frotz

Work is underway in two different directions simultaneously: 1) put a
not-so-dumb-Frotz interface on it, and 2) port to ITS.

I have a day job, so no promises on the timeframe of either of those.

Thanks for doing this from one of the apparently three people left on Earth without a FB account :)

Third one here. I once tried to set one up. My registration
was rejected. Why? Who knows? Just as well considering, I think.
